Rhodonite is an uncommon mineral whose name is derived from the Greek word “rhodos,” meaning “rose-colored.” As detailed in the name, rhodonite’s hue ranges from light-pink to dark-red and often features black streaks made by manganese oxide. Rhodonite has a perfect, prismatic cleavage and is the official gemstone of the Commonwealth of Massachusett. These rhodonite eggs were polished by hand and are from Madagascar.
