Amazonite is the blue-green variety of Microline, a potassium-rich feldspar. Amazonite received its name from the Amazon River and has two directions of perfect cleavage. Amazonite is extremely rare and is commonly found with other minerals such as quartz and black tourmaline. This amazonite freeform has been polished by hand and was exported from Madagascar.
