Jade is a group of two minerals, Jadeite and Nephrite. Jadeite is rich in aluminum and sodium and comes in a variety of colors other than green for which Jade is known including brown, black, red and purple. Nephrite is the iron-rich version of Jade with hues that range from dark green to light green. This transvaal jade freeform has been polished by hand and comes from Rustenburg, South Africa.
