This awesome material comes out of Argentina and is true pink amethyst from the Choique Mine. It occurs in geodic formations or cavities lined with crystals with the crystals usually having an excellent dark, pink color and nice terminations.

The material believed by some to be rose quartz has been analyzed at the California Institute of Technology and was reported to be a "purplish pink amethystine quartz  colored by microscopic hematite particles. They are not rose or pink quartz. And they are definitely beautiful.
